Non-Food Traders

Welcome

This page has information about applying to run a non-food stall at Buddhafield Festival. If your stall is more suited to one of the categories below, please return to the applications page here and apply to that area when it is open.

  • Food stall
  • Healer
  • Campaign Stall

The deadline for applying as a trader is 20th March, 11.55pm. We process applications after this date, so you will not hear from us until after that.

If you have any questions regarding trading at this event, please contact festival.traders@buddhafield.com.

Buddhafield Festival has a unique atmosphere and ethos. We have a maximum of 4000 people on site, and the number of trading outlets is limited.

Though successful traders from previous years are given priority, we are always looking to talk to new traders, especially if they have a strong ethical approach and trade in vegan, organic, handmade, local, fair trade, recycled, and up-cycled goods.

Please note that we have a large number of returning stalls that sell women's clothing. If these are the primary goods that you sell, then you can still apply but we want to manage expectations upfront about your potential acceptance.

Before you apply to be a Festival Trader

Even if you have been a Trader at the Festival before, please read all the Terms and Conditions carefully and thoroughly. Everyone at the Festival is expected to adhere to them, and they are regularly updated. If you do not follow the Terms and Conditions on-site, you will be asked to cease trading immediately and may be asked to leave the event.

Our Ethos

Buddhafield Festival is a vegan event, so applications need to operate within those parameters. Our ethos includes being a Festival that prohibits alcohol and recreational drugs on-site. We also do not allow the sale of anything derived from animal products, such as leather or bone.

Compliance Requirements

The Trader Coordinator manages on-site traders, and the Compliance Team Leader manages the compliance of stalls to external agency requirements.

Only people who have booked and been accepted to trade at least a month in advance will be allowed to trade. We are obliged to perform thorough electrical and structural checks on your stall, which you must pass before you can trade.

You will be asked to upload your documents on application.

Keeping our carbon footprint low

Please consider the following before you come along to trade:

  • we do not allow the selling of liquids in plastic bottles
  • please keep packaging and disposable items to a minimum
  • we ask you to take away as much rubbish as possible

Your pitch

Electricity

There is no mains electric power on-site, and we don’t provide a supply from our contractors’ rigs. All traders need to arrange their own power and lighting using a solar or wind-charged rig. Generators (including van generation) are not to be used on-site, and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is recommended for any such electrical appliances being used on your stall.

General Sales

Please, no items made from animal hides for sale - e.g. sheepskins, leather clothes, bags, belts, etc.

Your Pitch Fee

Authorised traders must be booked in advance.

You will need to purchase a trader ticket for each member of staff. These are bought online, in advance, at the adult concession rate for the festival. The cost is £155 per person (including booking fee).

You get one free vehicle pass with your pitch. You have the option to ask for up to 3 extra vehicle passes below at the reduced rate of £30 per vehicle.

We will ask for a contribution of 10% of your gross takings.

Fly-Pitchers

Our Event Licence agreement with the Local Authority prohibits selling food from fly pitches.

You do not have to pre-book a fly pitch but must have purchased a Festival ticket in advance. You are expected to take all unsold items with you by the end of the Festival.

The Trader Co-ordinator will chat with you on-site and negotiate a donation to be given in by the end of the event.
