Travel to Frog Mill

Road Directions

The Frog Mill site is near the village of Throwleigh, between the hamlets of Wonson and East Ash, in Dartmoor National Park. (Be aware, Sat Nav is not to be trusted in these dark wild parts, you may end up in the cave of the Dartmoor Beast!)

From Exeter and the M5:
Come off the M5 at Exeter and take the A30 towards Okehampton. After about 20 miles turn off at Whiddon Down services. Go through the village until you get to a roundabout. Take the first exit signposted for Moretonhampstead (A382). After only 200m take the second turning on the right towards Throwleigh and Gidleigh. Continue down this lane for about a mile and pass through the hamlet of East Ash (not signed) taking the right fork where the road splits, still heading for Throwleigh.

Follow this lane for about half a mile, soon going steeply downhill until you reach a bridge (known locally as Ash Bridge) over the Blackaton Brook and immediately turn left. The land to your left is our land, Frogmill. The car park entrance is the seoncd gate on the left up the hill a little.  If you miss the entrance, keep going uphill for about a mile past the Northmore Arms pub in Wonson and turn around at the wide T junction at the top of the hill.

From Okehampton and Cornwall:
From the A30 dual carriageway, take the exit to Whiddon Down (and services), which takes you back over the A30 to a T junction. Turn right into Whiddon Down. Go through the village until you get to a roundabout. Take the first exit signposted for Moretonhampstead (A382). After only 200m take the second turning on the right towards Throwleigh and Gidleigh. Continue down this road for a mile or so and pass through the hamlet of East Ash (not signed) taking the right fork where the road splits, still heading for Throwleigh. Follow this lane for half a mile, soon going steeply downhill until you reach a bridge (known locally as Ash Bridge) over the Blackaton Brook and immediately turn left. The car park entrance is the second gate on the left. If you go past it, keep going uphill for about a mile past the Northmore Arms pub in Wonson and turn around at the wide T junction at the top of the hill.
