Showers & Saunas Area

Applications are now open for both helping us build the Buddhafield saunas and showers and run them during the event.

As crew for the sauna area during the event you will be helping to run the new shower system, our two wood fired saunas and generally helping to create and maintain a relaxing and nourishing environment in the area as a whole.

We are recruiting a bigger team than ever before to help ensure the sauna experience is one that leaves everyone feeling re-energised and we warmly welcome new applicants as well as returning crew.

Typically, working in the sauna area involves a mix of:

  • Meet and greet at reception
  • Cleaning and maintaining the showers and saunas
  • Chopping wood
  • Tending the fires
  • Keeping the area clean and tidy
  • And doing everything we can to ensure visitors to the sauna enjoy a relaxed and revitalising visit.

During the festival you will be working five hours a day, with the option to work in two 2.5 hour slots. We will be open from 7am - 2 am, people volunteering to do the opening shift (6am start) will have a shorter shift.

The main body of the work is during the festival from Wednesday, 16th of July - Sunday, 20th of July, but the Sauna Crew needs to be on-site from Sunday, 13th July to help with set up and familiarise yourselves with the necessary tasks and procedures, and commit to staying until Sunday, 20th July, after your shift. However, we’d love for you to stay for a group check out on the morning of Monday the 21st.

We are also seeking a small number of people to help join our existing build crew. You will need to be able to engage in often physically demanding work in all weather conditions as well as experience of similar festival work or relevant skills such as carpentry to fill these roles. This is a chance to fully immerse yourself in a ‘work as practice’ right livelihood context for much of July, with daily space for meditation and engaging with Buddhist teachings and practice throughout as we build the area together and then work to return the site to its original state after the festival. Build crew can expect to have the festival off except for one 2.5-hour shift each to help support the incoming festival crew.

If this sounds like something which would suit you and you can commit to being onsite between Friday the 4th of July and Thursday the 24th, then please, apply below.

In return, we offer:

  • A festival ticket
  • Camping pitch and/or live-in parking
  • A vehicle pass, if needed
  • The opportunity to be part of a positive, right livelihood, Buddhist-focused community
  • 3 delicious vegan meals per day prepared, cooked and served with love
  • Hot drinks and snacks throughout the day during the setup and tat-down. Hot drinks throughout the event.
  • Meditation, yoga, dharma discussions, dance, talks, fun & games, fires, stories, songs and community
