Safeguarding

We are a small select team working to provide Safeguarding provision across site. The team is led by Buddhafield’s Safeguarding Officer. This team covers the safeguarding of both children and vulnerable/at-risk adults but we also triage some of the small amount of criminal activity that may arise and any ethical conduct concerns towards spiritual teachers.

In order to be eligible to work on this team you would ideally have social work experience. We will also consider applications from people who work or have worked in education or health settings where they have received safeguarding training and have experience of safeguarding culture.

You will need to feel confident in approaching people and having conversations, using two-way radios (we give training),  and keeping records. We ask for a high degree of confidentiality as we handle sensitive data and comply with GDPR. You will not be responsible as an individual for triaging cases, you will work in pairs and either the Safeguarding Officer or his deputy will be available on each shift for supervision.

We’re asking you to be available to join us on site on Tuesday 16th July 2024 in order to settle in and receive orientation to start work on Wednesday 17th July. You will need to be available to stay through until Monday 22nd ideally. It is possible to leave site on the Sunday evening by negotiation, please state if you will need to do this on this application form. Your working hours per day are approximately 6 hours and you will be given 3 meals a day and access to hot drinks. You will also have access to crew showers. There will be daily check-ins and debriefs and some daily dharma (buddhist teaching) input as well.

We aim to respond to your application within a month or less. You can log in to your eventree account anytime to view your application details. We will contact you to offer you a slot or to let you know you have been unsuccessful.

If we receive a high volume of applications, we may close submissions early so please apply straight away for the best chance to be considered.
