Buddhafield takes Safeguarding seriously. Whilst we draw our ethical guidance from the Buddhist precepts, we also recognise the importance of operating within known social protocols and Charity Commission guidelines regarding the safety of children and vulnerable/at-risk adults.
Our Safeguarding Officer is Jo. She works with a small team of people with professional experience in the field of safeguarding in different contexts. She undertakes this work on behalf of the trustees of Triratna Buddhafield and in association with Triratna’s European Chair's Assembly Safeguarding team. We have a named person on each of our retreat teams who can field any safeguarding concerns. At the Buddhafield Festival and Green Earth Awakening Camp, we have a small team of safeguarders on duty around the clock.
Buddhafield is a member of the 31.8 safeguarding organisation who provide independent and impartial safeguarding support to charitable and spiritual organisations across the UK and internationally.
