Crew Food - During

The crew food team for the festival feeds all the volunteers and staff onsite - up to 500 people per meal! You’ll be part of a team that chops veg, washes pots, serves and cooks food with a team leader. All the food is organic, vegan and wheat free (unless stated).

Shifts rotate through morning, afternoon and evening. If you’re a very early riser, there is a chance to work on a smaller team doing the breakfast shift each day. There is also a split shift available, serving lunch and dinner each day which is dealt with inside your team. It may be good for those of you who like to work in short bursts!

We are looking for cooks, shift managers and general kitchen assistants - please let us know about your skills when you apply. We will also be inviting Triatna Sanghas to help fill up the team so if you are connected to a Sangha in a specific area please say. To volunteer, you need to be prepared to adhere to our guidelines.

As well as kitchen tasks you’ll be able to take advantage of all the festival has to offer, from yoga, to dance, to singing, to sitting around the fire, to listening to dharma talks and taking part in rituals. We recommend the opening and closing ceremonies, and the big ritual on Saturday night - there’s usually lots of fire! By volunteering with Buddhafield you’re becoming part of the community, and as well as contributing practically to the smooth running of the festival, you’re also helping create the warm generous space that Buddhafield is known for.

We ask that you come and be with us 16th-22nd July (shifts are 16th-21st) with your full camping kit or live-in vehicle, and bring your energy, generosity, skills, physical labour and your brightness. Please plan to arrive on Tuesday 16th for kitchen induction and also to set up your sleeping area and meet people as we will be working from 17th.

 In return we offer

  • your ticket to the festival
  • 3 organic vegan meals a day, plus hot drinks for the days you are onsite (with the option to work in exchange for food if you want to stay on longer to help with tat down)
  • meditation teaching and dharma input
  • an experience of living in a close-knit community on the land.
