This role is for Order Members to support teams with Dharma input at the Buddhafield Festival.
This is an opportunity to bring your love of the Dharma, connecting with people, and team-based right livelihoods together in a beautiful natural setting. The theme of Buddhafield's year is 'With Arms Open Wide'. The dates you would need to be onsite are 16th - 22nd July, arriving the day before the festival starts, and leaving either the day after the festival ends, or after your last Dharma input.
This will involve:
- Connecting with members of a team and doing a short Dharma input related to Buddhafield's theme of the year with them at the beginning of each of their shifts. Teams have a shift each day of the festival (5 days).
- Responding and supporting them with what’s happening for that team day-to-day,
- Being aware that there will be a very wide range of experience of Buddhism in the team, from none at all to very experienced.
- Depending on the team, it may also be appropriate for you to lead short meditations, and join in with the work they are doing. If you are not joining in with their work, you may be asked to offer Dharma input to more than one team.
In return you will receive:
- Support from the Dharma liaison Order Member before and during the event.
- A quotes/short readings/Dharma suggestions document.
- A ticket to the festival.
- Whatever vehicle pass you need.
- Vegan food and hot drinks while you are there.
