Buddhafield Café

The Buddhafield Cafe runs at various festivals in the South West, serving organic vegan food on proper plates, and drinks in proper mugs.

The Buddhafield cafe opens at the Buddhafield festival, serving festival goers from 9am-11pm each day. The cafe serves a varied menu, on a rolling basis, with food always available.

You'll be part of a team that chops veg, feeds the fire that heats our hot water, washes up and serves on the counter. We are also looking for cooks and shift managers - please let us know when you apply if you want to fill one of these roles!

You'll work a 6 hour shift each day of the event which includes a pre and post shift meeting. Shifts will be alternating afternoon and evening shifts, meaning you'll get at least one 24 hour period in the festival off. We are open for breakfast too but this shift is already covered by a regular team.

As well as kitchen tasks, you’ll be able to take advantage of all the festival has to offer, from yoga to dance to singing, to sitting round the fire, to listening to dharma talks and taking part in ritual. We recommend the opening and closing ceremonies, and the big ritual on Saturday night - there’s usually lots of fire! By volunteering with Buddhafield you’re becoming part of the community, and you’re also helping create the warm generous space that Buddhafield is known for.

We ask that you come and be with us 15th - 21st July (shifts are 16th - 20th) , in your vehicle or tent, or under your tarp, and bring your energy, generosity, skills, physical labour and your brightness. In return we offer

  • your ticket to the festival
  • 3 meals a day, plus hot drinks, from the cafe, 15th - 21st July (with the possibility to work in exchange for food if you wanted to stay on longer to help with tat down)
  • meditation teaching and dharma input
  • an experience of working in a living in close knit community on the land

Extra Opportunity!

Before the festival begins, a small team comes together to build the cafe from the ground up — and we’re looking for volunteers to be part of it!

We’re recruiting a Set Up and Tat Down Crew to help build and dismantle the Buddhafield Cafe at this year’s Buddhafield Festival. You'll be working as part of a small team of around 10 people, setting up the cafe space — repairing, plumbing, decorating, tidying and generally bringing the space to life. It's hands-on, practical work that lays the foundations for the cafe experience our festival-goers love.

Dates: 9th July - 25th July

Working before and after the festival: 10th–16th July and 21st–24th July

Festival Time Off: 16th–20th July — free to enjoy the festival!

What's Included:

  • Your ticket to the Buddhafield Festival
  • Three organic vegan meals a day during set up and tat down, hot drinks
  • Café food during the festival
  • Daily meditation and dharma input during set up and tat-down
