'Turning Inwards', with Kevala - a day of Dharma Practice & Sangha Connection
11am - 4pm
Missing connection with Sangha, and opportunities to practice Dharma in close relationship with the Earth and Nature?
Whilst Covid-19 has meant our normal Events & Retreats Program has not happened this year, Buddhafield is blessed with the Guardianship of two beautiful areas of land, both in stunning landscapes. Some of you may have recently enjoyed a few days, a week, or even longer, of relaxed camping with a Dharmic flavour at our Conscious Campsite at Frog Mill on Dartmoor.
You may not know, however, that Buddhafield owns a second piece of land, of similar size, but very different in character, on the Blackdown Hills escarpment in East Devon, with views all the way to the sea. Bowerwood, as the site is now known, lies a little north of the village of Broadhembury, and consists primarily of wet and dry woodland, wood pasture, and scrub. It's a place where Nature is very present, and the diverse habitats offer a rich variety of quiet, secluded places for reflection and meditation.
On Saturday 26th September, between 11am and 4pm, you are invited to join Buddhafield at Bowerwood, for a Practice Day focussed on the Autumn Equinox and the theme of 'Turning Inwards', as the days shorten, temperatures fall, and the land and its inhabitants begin to slow down and prepare for the winter ahead. The day will be led by Kevala, a long-serving Triratna Order Member and core member of the Buddhafield team.
If you wish to attend, or find out more about the day, please email Chris Devlin at email@example.com. Come equipped for a day out on the land, with stout boots, waterproofs and warm clothing - the event will include some walking over rough ground, as well as seated practice. To avoid cross-contamination, please also bring all the food, water and hot drink you require.
The land lies just 20 minutes or so from the M5 at Cullompton, with A-road access until the last few miles. The last section is up a stone track, which is accessible by normal road vehicles, with parking available on site.
