We welcome you to join us at this intimate gathering to reconnect, reflect, resource ourselves and take action for a better world.

At the turning of the summer season, Green Earth Awakening brings together those seeking a balance of inner transformation and outer action. In a time of ecological breakdown, we offer a space to explore spiritual growth, learn practical skills, and cultivate resilience—personally, socially, and ecologically.

For those on a path of spiritual development, it’s easy to overlook the urgency of social and ecological injustice. For activists, the focus on action can overshadow the need for inner reflection and renewal. Green Earth Awakening is an invitation to all—a place to gather, connect, and cross-pollinate ideas.

Through meditation, yoga, workshops, panel talks and land-based skills—from green crafts to ecology-based practices—we aim to create a safe, vibrant community where you can nourish yourself, ask difficult questions, and forge new ways of being in the world.

In the face of climate breakdown, inequality, and the painful legacy of colonialism, we believe in the power of compassion, connection, and collective transformation. Inspired by the lens of Buddhism, we embrace a worldview that shifts us from individualism, scarcity, and separation toward connection, abundance, and solidarity.

Join us as we rediscover practices that heal our sense of separation, reconnect us to the web of life, and empower us to co-create a future rooted in courage, creativity, and compassion.

What is it?

The Green Earth Awakening is shaped by the spiral of The Work That Reconnects, developed by eco-philosopher and activist Joanna Macy — a transformative journey through Coming from Gratitude, Honouring Our Pain for the World, Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes, and Going Forth.

Joanna Macy, who passed away in 2025, has been a guiding light for so many of us seeking to face the crises of our times with courage, compassion, and connection. Her teachings continue to inspire the heart of this gathering. Together, we’ll walk the spiral she offered to the world, and give thanks for the depth and clarity of her vision.

Green Earth Awakening is an off-grid, drug and alcohol-free, gathering community of up to 350 people. It involves workshops, talks, group discussion, embodied practices and music. Our programme is carefully curated to support reflection and depth. We value celebration and creativity as vital aspects of being in community.

At Green Earth Awakening, you will find workshops on:

• community and movement building
• ecology-based practice
• social change
• practical tools for resilience
• land-based skills and crafts
• Buddhism and meditation
• singing, dance and play
• embodiment practices

There is a meditation space, Dharma space, death awareness space and healing garden, music, open mic, cafes, showers and sauna, and, as always, the throbbing heart of the central fire.

When does it happen?

Green Earth Awakening happens every year in September. This year the dates are Wednesday 9 September to Sunday 14 September, 2026. 

Get Involved

We run on the generosity of volunteers and thrive on the strength of the community created during the events, set-up, and take-down. You can view the available options - including workshop applications, music and open mic, site crew, showers and saunas and so on- and apply here once applications open for 2026 (you can sign up to our newsletter and/or follow us on social media for information about when applications open).

Prices

This year, meals, hot drinks during meal service times, camping and showers are included in the ticket price. Limited early bird tickets are available.

Sauna sessions and parking are optional extras. Workshops, talks and entertainments are all included. Some crafts may charge a nominal fee to cover the cost of materials, and healers are by donation.

We offer fresh and amazing food from our own Buddhafield Cafe. The food is made with love by our team of volunteers and is organic and locally sourced.  All meals will be vegan with a gluten-free option. If you have allergies or specific dietary needs beyond this, please get in touch with us directly, and we can arrange a ticket without food included so you can provide your own meals.

As a community event, we aim only to keep tickets as affordable and accessible as possible, so the standard ticket is set at the lowest price we can manage. If you’re in a position of abundance, you can support the event and others by choosing a supporter ticket — your contribution really helps.

We have a limited number of solidarity tickets at below-cost price for those who would benefit from coming but have limited financial resources due to investing time in social, environmental, or spiritual causes. Please get in touch with us to access this option.
