On this page you can find out about what the Buddhafield Festival Take-Down Crew does, what we need you to be able to commit to and how to volunteer.
The feeling of safety, how well held and organised it is, how great it is for kids, the beauty/care that’s gone into setting up the site and spaces, the veggie food, ecstatic dance and singing workshops, the atmosphere, the compost toilets, etc, etc!!
Work Details and Dates
We are looking for volunteers to work with us after the Festival from Monday 17 July to Saturday 22 July 2017 July to help us take down and clear the Festival site.
In exchange for food and a ticket to the Festival, we will expect you to work roughly 6 hours a day plus team meetings. We also hope to organize (optional) daily mediations and Dharma discussion groups during the tat-down period. You will of course be free to attend all workshops and activities during the event.
The work will be very physical, at times demanding, and will include:
- taking kit off site
- taking down tents
- clearing and cleaning equipment and the site
- uninstalling plumbing and lighting
- disassembling compost toilets.
To be a part of the team we’d like you to first contact us (via the link below) expressing your interest and to ensure there is still space on the team. To show your commitment, we’ll ask that you purchase your own Festival ticket and email us a copy of your ticket confirmation: this guarantees your place. You will be fully reimbursed your ticket cost at the end of the tat-down period, before you leave site.
When you arrive on site at the start of the Festival (Wednesday 12 July), please check in with the Site Crew Co-ordinator (via the Info Point).
A Word about Alcohol and Drugs
Please have a think about our view on drink and drugs.
We don’t wish to judge people’s views on this — and hope it won’t put you off applying! And if this would be a new way of experiencing a festival for you then why not give it a try?! However please bear in mind that if you choose to work with us, then we’d like this policy to be respected.
