Fundraising

Buddhafield is a not-for-profit organisation that raises funds by putting on a Festival, running a field Cafe, requesting donations from people attending our Retreats and running appeals. Some of our supporters make one-off donations, others set up regular Standing Orders and a few help us with private loans. We depend on the generosity of retreatants and volunteers to be able to keep our programme going.

Donations & Standing Orders

Donations of any amount, large or small are gratefully accepted.

  • Donations can be made through our project page on chuffed.org.
  • Chuffed has options for both one-off and monthly donations - standing orders are a great way to contribute a regular amount towards our projects, it doesn't matter how small or large, every bit helps.

What is Chuffed.org?

Chuffed.org is a crowdfunding platform for socially-conscious projects from around the world.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, donating through Gift Aid means we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. To do this, simply select the 'I want to Gift Aid my donation' option when donating.

The Buddhafield Festival

Because of the costs involved, the Festival charges set ticket prices. As well as selling tickets, we negotiate individually for donations (as opposed to a fixed pitch fee) from our traders based on their turnover at the event. Any surplus it makes is donated to the Charity, Triratna Buddhafield.

The Buddhafield Cafe

The Cafe's modest surplus is re-invested back into itself.

Buddhafield Retreats & Events

On our retreats and most of our events, attendees are asked for a modest (non-refundable) deposit when making a booking. Subsequently, although there are published donation guidelines, they are free to give more or less than the sums suggested at the end of their retreat.

Having said that, for many years, our retreats have been subsidised by the Buddhafield Festival, but we can’t always rely on this. So we ask retreatants to give as much as they can and help us to become fully self-financing and continue to offer these unique retreats in the heart of nature.

Appeals

In recent years we have been running a Land Appeal to fundraise for the purchase of our land at Broadhembury and Frog Mill.

Loans

In some instances we have benefitted from both short and long-term private loans from friends and supporters. If you think you can help us with a loan, please contact us.

Legacies

We are all going to die at some point and we may have acquired significant assets during our lives. We would want those assets to benefit the things that we cared about during our lives after our death. Contact the office for advice on what you should include in your will so that Buddhafield benefits from your estate either financially or in kind.If you would like to help on the land or in other ways, please contact us.
